Mansun Retold sees Paul Draper, frontman of Mansun, revisit and reimagine key songs from the band’s catalogue — not as nostalgic recreations, but as deeply considered reinterpretations shaped by time, experience, and perspective.

Approaching the material as unfinished business, Draper rebuilds these tracks from the ground up, creating what is his most sonically ambitious solo project to date. The album balances intimacy and scale, blending acoustic instrumentation with rich, cinematic arrangements.

Recorded at The Loft Studios in Surrey, Mansun Retold was co-produced with Paul “PDub” Walton (The Cure, U2, Björk, Massive Attack, Oasis) and features a string quartet led and arranged by Audrey Riley (Muse, Coldplay, Nick Cave). Drums are provided by Julian Fenton, Mansun’s original drummer, while Draper performs acoustic bass, lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and vocals.

Originally emerging in the late ’90s with albums such as Attack Of The Grey Lantern, Six and Little Kix, Mansun built a fiercely loyal following with Draper at the centre. Mansun Retold reconnects with that legacy while presenting the songs anew for a modern audience.
