OUT NOW – Released 20 February 2026
Mansun Retold marks a powerful return from Paul Draper, frontman of Mansun, as he revisits and reimagines key songs from the band’s catalogue with fresh perspective and emotional depth.
Rather than revisiting the material for nostalgia’s sake, Draper treats these songs as unfinished business — reshaping them to reflect time, experience, and maturity. The result is his most sonically ambitious solo project to date, balancing intimacy with rich, cinematic arrangements.
Recorded at The Loft Studios in Surrey, the album was co-produced with Paul “PDub” Walton (The Cure, U2, Björk, Massive Attack, Oasis) and features a string quartet led and arranged by Audrey Riley (Muse, Coldplay, Nick Cave). Drums come from Julian Fenton, Mansun’s original drummer, while Draper performs acoustic bass, lead and rhythm guitars, piano, and vocals.
Rooted in the legacy of Mansun’s influential late-’90s releases, Mansun Retold reconnects Draper with that era while presenting the songs anew for a modern audience.
