Arriving via Transgressive Records on 22nd May 2026, Blue Morpho sees O’Brien moving further into expansive, immersive and emotionally resonant territory.
Written during lockdown and recorded between London and the Welsh countryside, Blue Morpho draws influence from nature, healing, reflection and transformation. The album takes its name from the iridescent Blue Morpho butterfly and combines hypnotic psych-folk, ambient soundscapes, jazz influences, trip-hop rhythms and radiant guitar textures into one of the most absorbing alternative releases of 2026.
Produced by acclaimed producer Paul Epworth (Adele, Coldplay) with additional production from Riley MacIntyre, the album also features contributions from Shabaka Hutchings, Philip Selway and Dave Okumu.
